The inner me is soothed by a constant

Today's Praise: God still hears sinner's prayers.

I saw prayers being answered today. My family and baby are safe and life was pretty good today, much better then it could have been. Life changes so quickly, in an instant. It's just good that we have one constant, Jesus. I'm so glad that he is merciful, and I pray to keep surrendering even when I don't feel like it. I want God in my life completely. That really is what I want. Of course you would want to share everything with a loved one, but to our closest ones, we cannot betray the confidence of the inner self that we would never want or allow anyone to meet. God sees all and knows all, so there's no reason to hide from him. It's just hard and embarrasing to let him in; however, if it had to be anyone, God I pray that it is you no matter how much I shut you out. I need you. Please always be my constant.

Today's scripture: "Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and forever." Hebrews 13:8

Today's challenge: To come to him more and lean on him more when the inner me becomes to much.

Body vs. Machine

Today's praise: I thank God that I've been blessed with a thoughtful, caring family.

It is a blessing to have a family that works together automatically for the greater good. It seems that we all have our roles to play that are interchangeable and yet unique. I love all of my family. Sometimes a family is like a living machine, well-oiled or rusty, shiny or dull, broken parts, spare parts; overall, a family is a family, and they are gold. It's like how God's followers should be. Everyone has there place (special talents, skills, personalities), and we all work together for the greater good which is to love God and to help others to see his love. We are all his people. On second thought, we are different than a machine. A machine does things without thinking, knowing why, without even wondering why. A machine performs tasks. A machine is efficient. A machine can be turned off. I think I understand now why we are likened to a body. A body has parts but also a consciousness, a free will. A body acts, is harmonious, and can by no means be turned off by a switch.

Today's Scripture: "I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God." Romans 12:1-2

Today's challenge: God, help me to surrender to you in times where I would not think to surrender. Help me to seek you in times where I'd like to turn to myself. Please transform my mind and heart.

My Blind Side

Today's praise: I thank God that he protects our blind sides.

I saw the Sandra Bullock movie, Blind Side, today, and it got me thinkin'. Humans have a blind side, and God is our left tackle. He sees what we don't and protects us from things that we cannot see and cannot comprehend. Even when bad things do happen as they often do, there is still a blind side that was protected.

Today's scripture: "For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, and against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places." Ephesians 6:12

Today's Challenge: To find at least one positive in a bad situation because I know that God is good, powerful, and has my blind side.

The Start of my Challenging Life in a Good Way

Today's scripture of the day:

"Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within me. Cast me not away from thy presence; and take not thy holy spirit from me. Restore unto me the joy of thy salvation; and uphold me with thy free spirit." -Psalm 51:10-12

Life up to this moment for the past year or so has been one big day and one long night with some big moments in between. Today is different; today, I am free. I am free to be. I am free to see. I am free to know, to laugh, to cry, to live in Christ to the fullest.

Today's challenge: I am going to be happy about at least one thing in my day and will praise God for it at the end of it.
